About Us
In 2009 four poultry enthusiasts got together to plan a coop tour for the Austin community. The purpose of the tour was to share and gather coop building ideas for present and future poultry owners, and to inspire another way for sustainability within the community.
Each committee member brought individual expertise to the table.
The committee consisted of:
Michelle Hernandez - Project Management
Judith Haller - Publicity and Public Relations
Carla Allen - Coop Owner Relations
Tracie Downing - Blog Support and Maintenance
Their poultry experience ranged from new chicken owners of less than a year to over six years. The committee members raised a variety of breeds ranging from rare, endangered and heritage breeds, better known breeds raised primarily for eggs and food, and even some guineas.
Due to the success of the tour, other coop owners from the 2009 tour volunteered to help out for 2010.
They are:
Ashley O'Brian
Julie Woods
We look forward to the experience and expertise they bring to the 2010 tour.
